Bhubaneswar : A low pressure area is likely to form over the northwest Bay of Bengal off the Odisha coast on July 2 which may intensify gradually into a depression the next day, the Centre for Environment and Climate (CEC) of SOA Deemed to be University here said on Saturday.
It is likely to intensify into a deep depression on July 4 under the influence of which moderate to heavy rainfall may drench the state from July 1 to 5, a CEC bulletin said.
Coastal Odisha could experience heavy to very heavy rainfall on July 2 and 3 while interior parts of the state were likely to get heavy to very heavy downpour from July 3 to 5, it said adding light to moderate rain might continue over Odisha from June 27 to July 1.
