Affectionately known as the “Iron Man of India,” Sardar Patel’s remarkable contributions in uniting the country earned him this well-deserved moniker.
In 2014, October 31 was officially designated as National Unity Day, or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, as a testament to Patel’s legacy. The Symbol of Unity: Statue of Unity
A towering symbol of India’s unity, the “Statue of Unity,” stands majestically on the banks of the Narmada River in Vadodara, Gujarat. Unveiled in 2018, this colossal monument pays homage to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s vision and serves as a constant reminder of the power of unity.
