Nilamadhab makes Odisha proud at Cannes Round table meeting
Bhubaneswar: It’s all about India at the Cannes this year. To celebrate our 75th year of independence as the Country of Honour at the prestigious festival and to promote India as a filming destination to the world, that’s exactly what happened at the Round table meeting on, ‘ Filming in India: A world of opportunities’, at the INDIA Pavilion, on 19th of May .
Noted film maker Nilamadhab Panda, was a panelist at this prestigious round table meeting along with other stalwarts of the fraternity.
In his talk he stressed on the love for cinema in our nation. He spoke about the diversity in terms of locations, stressing especially how Bhubaneswar is very close to places with White sand Beach, Forest and also Mountains.Hearing our Odisha mentioned at the Cannes is a matter of true pride for us all.
NFDC MD Shri Mr. Ravindar Bhakar discussed about the various incentives given to international filmmakers and also explained how the Film Facilitation office will be tying up with the national single window scheme for the smooth implementation of the various schemes and also about incentives and ease of process to start new cinemas in the nation.
Mr Ravi Kottarakara ( Producer ) Stressed on how more than 5000 films are made in the nation and how every state is beautiful in its way, and how everything from location permissions and the latest filming equipment’s are available in India. ). Mr Saurabh Vijay ( Secretary, Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Maharashtra) spoke about the various initiatives of the Maharashtra government has taken with help from corporates
