Odisha’s Pride: TSTSL Employee Baruna Sahu to Represent India at World Skills Competition in France

Bhubaneswar, June 7, 2024: Baruna Sahu, an employee of Tata Steel Technical Services Limited (TSTSL), a group company of Tata Steel, has made Odisha proud by clinching the Gold Medal in the Electrician Trade category at the IndiaSkills Competition 2023-24 held in New Delhi recently.

Sahu’s journey from a small village of Kandarasinghi in Ganjam District to this remarkable achievement is nothing short of inspiring. Commencing his journey from humble beginnings, Sahu completed his ITI in Electrical trade and further refined his skills at the esteemed World Skill Centre, Bhubaneswar. He then joined TSTSL as an Assistant (Technical) – I C and is currently deployed in Tata Steel’s plant in Meramandali, Dhenkanal district.

Congratulating Baruna Sahu on this exceptional accomplishment, Sandeep Dhir, CEO & Managing Director of Tata Steel Technical Services Limited, said, “We are extremely proud of Baruna’s achievement, and we wish him continued success as he prepares to represent India in the prestigious World Skills Competition in Lyon, France, later this year.
