TPWODL Organizes Urja Mela 2024; More Than 300 Students Participate from 25 Schools Across Sambalpur

TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL), a joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, organized an Urja Mela 2024 under its flagship CSR initiative Club Enerji. More than 300 students from 25 schools across Sambalpur actively participated in the event organized at Guru Nanak Public School, Sambalpur. This annual event brought together students and teachers to promote sustainability and green innovation by showcasing their creativity and raise awareness about energy conservation.

This grand event was inaugurated by Dr S.N. Nanda, regional director, Odisha State Pollution Control Board. The event featured diverse activities, such as energy conservation, natural resource management, climate change. At this event students showcased their talents through science exhibition, quiz, drawing, best out of waste and poster making competitions.

The performances by students promoted a culture of sustainability. The centre of attraction was the participation of students from the Blind school students from Burla, who performed a powerful skit on energy conservation. To further support them, the company distributed provided Brail Slate, Audio Device, Ludo table designed for the blind and other essential aids, celebrating their incredible talent and resilience.

Club Enerji, a Flagship CSR initiative by Tata Power, actively promotes resource conservation clubs and climate-resilient awareness among students, emphasizing sustainable energy conservation. Regular school sessions through Urja Saathi Volunteers delve into topics such as energy conservation, natural resources management, climate actions and sustainable development goals.

The Urja Mela, designed to enlighten students about the significance of energy conservation, serves as a commendable concept. Acting as a platform for fostering awareness, the event provides valuable insights into responsible energy usage practices, emphasizing the importance of preserving energy resources for a sustainable future.

This may please be noted that under Club Enerji program, TPWODL is reaching out to 25,000 students from 225 schools spread over 9 districts in western Odisha to educate and enlighten the young generation on sustainability.
