The conviction came today, on December 6, 2023, from the Hon’ble Special Judge, Spl. Court, Cuttack, under TR No.07/2015, invoking sections 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

The investigation, led by Sri Ramakanta Sahoo, Ex-DSP, Vigilance Cell, Cuttack, meticulously uncovered evidence leading to the charge sheet against Behura.

The Hon’ble Special Judge, Spl. Court, Cuttack, after due deliberation, sentenced Behura to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 years. Additionally, he was fined Rs.50,000. In the event of failure to pay the fine, Behura faces an additional 6 months of rigorous imprisonment. Following the conviction, Odisha Vigilance is set to take further action by moving the competent authority to stop the pension of Sri Rabinarayan Behura, considering his status as a retired Ex-Manager. This step aligns with the commitment to ensure accountability and deter others from engaging in corrupt practices.
